Lager, Yuengling | Pottsville, PA | Yuengling is America's oldest brewery. Founded in 1829 the brewery is 192 this year. This beer is now availabe in Texas and is in fact brewed in Forth Worth in a joint venture’s plan with the Molson Coors Beverage Company to increase Yuengling’s reach beyond its current 22-state Eastern footprint. This is beer is famous for its rich amber color and medium-bodied flavor with roasted caramel malt for a subtle sweetness and a combination of cluster and cascade hops, this true original delivers a well-balanced taste with very distinct character. Born from a historic recipe that was resurrected in 1987, Yuengling Traditional Lager is a true classic. August 23, 2021 is the first time you could purchase this beer in Texas and while it has always been a favorite of mine when I was out of State time will tell if this beer can remain popular in Texas when it is always available or if the popularity will fall after a bit to the "what do you have that is new" trend.
I would also like to point out that Yuengling's has a great Recipe page of meals using their beer to cook with. This is area that a most breweries do not promote which is a shame since beer and cooking go so well together. If you have not tried it by now then I highly recommend doing so now. |

Löggerbier, |
Houston, TX | I had this on tap. It has a nice head and curtain lacing. Lemony, grassy smell and taste. Very nice citrus background to this beer. A light to medium body. Great effervescent carbonation, super clean, and finishes wonderfully dry. I can not place the hops. While this is not my favorite pilsner it is one to try and I will try it again. I am very pleased to see more Texas Craft Breweries brewing Pilsners. Pilsners are a beer that take a lot more skill and attention to details. They are so light in body and flavor that the smallist issue will show up quickly. |

Blonde Bombshell Pills, |
Conroe, TX | This beer pours great with good lace. The flavor is on style and the malt does show through. This pils is brewed with 100% German Pilsner malt, Nugget and Saphir Hops and lagered for 6 weeks. I am usually a big fan of Southern Star brews and I especially like Pilsners but this while on standard did not match my taste pallatte. I think it is the Saphir hops that bother me as I am not a fan of that varitiy of hops. I am curious to try this beer again and hopefully on tap to see if there is a taste difference. For now I'll just stick to Blonde Bombshell. |

Hop Rising, |
Salt Lake, UT | This a double IPA with an intese flavor. It has an intense amount of hops. The hops are cascade, columbus and bravo. If your looking for hops than this is for you. I prefer my Double IPA's to be more malty and I can also find that bravo hops start over power the malt flavor. This is an average Double IPA but woth trying. |

Origin Story, |
Ipswich, MA | To me Clown Shoes is known for their labels and this can is a good example. The beer itself has good head, slight smell of oak barrel with some barrel taste. The hops vanish as does the flavor. I was expecting much more from this beer as I usually love Clown Shoes beers. |
