LIL CAL, Southern Star | Conroe, TX | This is a diet beer or at least a low cal beer. It comes in at 100 calories and only 3.2 carbs. Light in body and very refreshing. The mosaic and amarillo really come out all as flavor. Looks hazy but taste clean with a slight hops finsh. This beer is available in the tap room and will be out in stores early next year. | Low Cal IPA | 4.2% | 27 | 4.5 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4.1 | Pic
Taco Tuesday, 11 Below | Houston, TX | This beer was a total surprise to me. I am not a fan of beers with salt added but this one totaly caught me off guard. I can best decribe the taste as a light margarita. You can taste the blonde ale beneeth but the lime and salt really come through but in a nice way. This would be great with street tacos or beef fajitas. | Blonde Ale with Salt | 4.5% | 13 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | 4 | Pic
Korova Milkshake IPA, Southern Star | Conroe, TX | I am not a fan of adding lactose to beers but if your going to do it then this is the way to do it. Brewed with extravagant amounts of Citra and Wamea hops. Rounded out with lactose and organic vanilla beans. Korova IPA is strongly reminiscent to dreamsicles. | Lactose IPA | 6.6% | 35 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | Pic
Raise A Little Helles, Brazos Valley Brewing | Brenham, TX | This Helles style use traditional German Hallerau Hops along with German Pilsner and Munich malts. Clean refreshing, nice lace, a great beer for our Texas fall or should I say soft summer. | Helles | 5.2% | 14 | 3.9 | 3.9 | 3.9 | 3.9 | 3.9 | 3.9 | Pic
Daura Damm, Estrella Damm | Barcelona, Spain | Let me start by saying I do not like gluten free beers. The recipe is from 1876. This is a Gluten Free or more appropriatly a beer with the gluten removed via filter. This is the best gluten free beer I have had. It has a Southern Eurpope taste, it is thick, smells like they used Hallertau hops. Good color and head. This is not a beer I would want to drink again but if I could not handle gluten then this would be a beer I would drink. | Gluten Free Beer | 5.4% | 26 | 4.5 | 4 | 3.9 | 3 | 3.5 | 3.78 | Pic |
