Pilsner

Stone Brewing

Escondido, CA

This beer pours great wiht good head and head retention through out the experience.

I get a slight aroma of floral or fruit along with a sweet malt.

It is clear as a Pilsner should be but a wee bit hoppier than you would expect from a German Pilsner but then again they call it an American Pilsner. Made with Cashmere and Vista hops it only has 21 IBU's and at 4.7% this is a great session beer for those warm to hot Texas aftenoons.

LFG GO TIME

Three Nations Brewing Co

Carrollton, TX

The beer pours with good head and maintains carbonation throughout the experience.

Nice clean smell with light flavors of pale malt and Noble hops. It has a clean crisp flavor with just a hint of hops. This is a very crushable beer and perfect for the Texas heat. It would also pair well with barbeque or dogs!

I am so happy to see more Texas Craft breweries brewing lagers.

Oh, if your and old fart like me I had no idea what "LFG" stood for, so I looked it up. It stands for "Let's Freaking go!"

Ben's House West Coast IPA

Trueanomoly

Houston, TX

The beer pours and looks great It has good head and foam retention. It is clea which is a nice to see. The call it a West Coast IPA because all the hops are grown on the West Coast of the United states.

Using Columbus, Cascade, and Centennial throughout the brewing process means it keeps that old style flavor thoughout the drink. Lingering bitter notes which are complemented by classic West Coast floral and citrus aromas.

Raspberry Tiki

Galveston Island Brewing Co.

Galveston, TX

The beer pours with a nce head and good lace but it dissipates quickly.

Galveston Island Brewing has taken their Tiki Wheat and added Raspberry to it which sounds great and it produces a very drinkable beer. You can smell the raspberry but as you taste the raspbeery flavor vanishes.

My resident Tiki Wheat expert (AKA- Brew Cheif, AKA -wife) gives it a 3.5 overall which is high praise comeing from her.

While this is a good beer as is I believe that it could use a wee bit more carbonation and more raspberry. I want to taste the snozz beery throughout the entire experience. Having said this the beer is still worth a try.

Bronc Stomper

Back Pew Brewing

Porter, TX

I had high hopes for this beer. It is a style that I really enjoy and Back Pew brews great beers. Saddly I was let down.

The beer pours with great head and maintains good appearerence and lace throughout.

It has a very low arroma but you can pick out a citrus vibe.

Unfortunately while labled a West Coast Double is taste more like a Juice IPA.

"A Juice IPA is a type of India Pale Ale (IPA) characterized by its strong fruit flavors and aromas, often described as "juicy" due to the high hop content and the inclusion of certain hop varieties that impart fruity notes like mango, passionfruit, and citrus. It's a popular style, often hazy due to the addition of oats or wheat, and typically has a lower bitterness than a traditional West Coast IPA. "

I was expecting more of a malty taste with a hop finish.

The beer is brewed with 100% 2-row pale malt and hopped with Simcoe Chinook, and Centennial.

If you disrgared the self appointed catagory and judge it against a Juice IPA I think you'll enjoy this beer. As for me I will give it another chance just to be fair and to give it a chance. As I said Back Pew brews great beer and there is a chance that the one I tried had not been handled or cared for propperly.
