Achtoberfest, | Houston, TX | This beer was a happy surprise. 8th Wonder does great beer but I had never had their Oktoberfest and I was pleasantly surprised. The season is young yet but so far this is the best one I have had this season. Pours great with good lace. The aroma is perfect for this style. There is a crisp malt flavor and the carbonation stays through out the beer session. This is one you need to try! |

Oktoberfest, |
Conroe, TX | I should say that technically this beer is a German-Style Festbier which is for all practial perposes an Oktoberfest. It made using a Weihensteph Lager Yeast, Munich, Vienna and two-row along with Perle Hallerau Mittlefrueh hops It pours great with nice foam lace. It is a bit darker than I would like but the taste is nice with a light roasted malt flavor. |

Oktoberfest, Spoetzl Brewery |
Shiner, TX | Brewed in a traditional Marzen style this beer pours with a great white head, and good lace. It has a crisp clean flavor and is a fine example of an Oktoberfest. | Oktoberfest | 5.7% | 18 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | 4.1 | Pic | |
Oktoberfest, |
Munich, Germany | Lets start with the fact that Paulaner has been around February 24, 1634 and was originally brewed by monks. They brew their Oktoberfest with Pilsner and Munich malt and use Herkules, Hallertauer Tradition hops. The use of Herkules is new since 2005. ( New because for 371 years the used just Hallertauer. Herkules is a new hop from the Hallertauer family with a high alpha so they can use less of it. This beer pours with great foam and good lace. It has a clean crisp taste with good mouth feel. It is on style. I must confess that I have had this beer before and prefer it on tap especially at the brewery or in their tent at Oktoberfest in Munich! One small complaint. It comes in a 11.2 oz bottle as do most German beers. |

Oktoberfest, Yuengling |
Home:Pottsville, PA Brewed in Fort Worth, TX |
Let me start by saying I had high hopes for this beer. I am a fan of their lager. This may be a case of just a bad bottle so I will try this again from a differnent source. No aroma. Very little carbonation which vanished quickly. Taste like syrup with no real flavor. I expected a malty falvor with an aroma or german hops but it was simply not there. I am curious what others feelings are on this beer. I did not finish it. |
