Stiegl-Goldbräu

or Stiegl Gold

Stiegl Brewery

Salzburg, Austria

This brewery was founded in 1492 and has been owned by the Kiener family  for the last 120 years so I guess you could say they are not new to the beer industry.

The beer has a  Light, sweet malt with hints of citrus, grain, and herbal notes. The taste is a well balance of malt sweetness and slight hop bitterness with great smooth creamy mouth feel.

This is a great beer any time and at 5% it makes a great all day beer. It goes well with almost any food.

Its better on tap if you can find it!

This beer is wee bit of old world flavor!!!

Devils Backbone

Real Ale Brewing

Blanco, TX

This beer pours great with jusgt the right amount of foam.

You can smell teh distinct Belgian character as soon as you pour it. A strong smell of spice, bannana and pilsner malt for a complex smell.

For taste the aroma is amplified with notes of clove, banana and Belgian candy.

This is a beer best enjoyed while ready a good book!

If you like Belgain triples than this is one to try.

Also a big shout out to Real Ale for turning 30 April 18, 2026! They make great beers and are really good people.

Double Pecan Porter Whickey Barrel Aged

(Coco Cerise) 2025

512 Brewing Company

Austin, TX

This bold whiskey barrel aged full bodied brew pours a deep mahogany color with a tan head which stays throughout the session. Aromas and flavors of dark chocolate, caramel nougat, toasted coconut and ripe cherries are present throughout. It finishes with a boozy chocolate covered cherry flavor on the palate.

This is best served in a sniffer glass and is best shared with a friend.

In full honesty I think I really prefer the original 512 Pecan Porter on Nitro but that is just my opinion.

This will be one that is hard to find but if you like barrel age beers this is right up your alley. Release in Feb of 2026 this will go quick so if you see it get it!

Dragon's Milk Emerald IPA

(Barrel Fermented)

New Holland Brewing Company

Holland, Michigan.

First, great name and packaging.

The beer pours great and maintains carbonation.

You smell the vanilla and then taste grapefruit, orange, big vanilla (creamsicle-like), oak, ending a bit boozy and dry.

Thin malt taste ending in a big vanilla barrel taste.

A little pricy ($5.56 for 16 oz or $17.07 a four pack) but it is 11%. This maybe a one and done for me but I highly recommend the one.

Voodoo Ranger G-Force

New Belgium Brewing

Ft. Collins , CO

Ok, this was one for SCIENCE!

New Belgium Voodoo Ranger in a 19.2 can is the number one beer sold in gas station/quickmarts in the United States. Yes thats right a 11% 19.2 oz single is the number one. I will just leave that there for now for you to ponder.

In full disclosure I like Voodoo Ranger, so I was very curious to see how they had "improved it". After all why mess with a good thing.

I had been looking for it since it was released earler this year. So when I found it I was excited untill I saw those horrible words, "SUPERCHARGED Juicy IPA"

Well is pours with great foam which stays through out the session. You immediately smell the juice!! Thats righ they said it and it was true!!

This is a Juice Bomb!!! If you like Jucey then this is for YOU!!!

Made with 2-Row Pale, Oats, Wheat malt and Cascade, Lotus, Strata, Sabro hops!

For Science I scored this on standards set by the Brewers Association.

My personal opinion...... Well I did not finish mine!! This beer was not made with me in mind. I will stick with regular Voodoo Ranger!
