Originally brewed and then whiskey barrel aged in
celebration of one of our brewers wedding. There is an aroma of deep maltiness with a really nice scotch whiskey overtone. The beer would have been good without
spending time in the whiskey barrel, but the whiskey definitely
deepens the taste and adds that really nice bite to the smoky malty flavor. Taste is a meal of dark malt, smooth lager-like roastiness, hint of vanilla,
wood, and a big chunk of dark chocolate soaked in whisky. This beer is light in body but do not let it fool you, the 8.7 % ABV will sneak up on you.
