Oktoberfest, Blackwater Draw Brewing
Blackwater has adjusted their recipe and taken a good Oktoberfest beer to the next level. This is perhaps one of the best Marzen or Oktoberfest beers I have had in a while. Great lace, awesome aroma, full body taste ending with a slight carmel taste. This is the mark to meet when it comes to Marzens in 2021!
Best in on draft and better at their tap room!
|Oktoberfest, Altstadt Brewing||Fredericksberg, TX||
This is a great German Marzen or Oktoberfest beer. Great lace, good mouth feel, full-bodied ending with a slight sweetness.
In tradition with the classic German Märzen styles originally served at Oktoberfest. Mild hopping compliment the rich combination of Pilsner, Vienna and Munich malts which give this brew its beautiful light copper color.
|Lager-ish, Great Heights Brewing||Houston, TX||
This is a good example of a german summer standard. Good lace, great smell, mouth feel and smooth finishing taste. Brewed with ale yeast but cold-conditioned like a lager, this beer is light, smooth, & crisp—perfect for a hot Texas day.
|Forbidden Helles, Willard's Brewery||Austin, TX||I am happy to see more Texas craft brewries making German style beers. This beer is wonderful full-flavored lagers of Bavaria. With notes of fresh-baked bread and a subtle kiss of noble hops, this otherwise light lager exhibits beauty in its subtlety. Crisp, golden, and refreshing.||German Lager||4.8%||16||4||4||4||4||4||4||Pic|
|40 Days & 40 Nights IPA, Lazarus Brewing||Austin, TX||At last a return to IPA's with clarity! This IPA has a crisp flavor that allows the malt to be tasted with a nice finish of hops with good head retention. A well balanced beer to be enjoyed an a summer afternoon.||IPA||7.1%||45||4||4||4||4||4||4||Pic|
