Golden Age

Family Buisness Brewing

Drippling Springs, TX

First let me say I am very happy that more Texas Craft Breweries are brewing German Pilsners.

This beer was gifted to me by my son during our family easter gathering. My son knows his beer.

This is a great example of the German Pilsner style and perfect for a warm spring or summer day.

This taste like a smash beer, meaning it has one grain and one hops. The grain will be a german pilsner malt and the hops taste like saaz but since they are so suttel they could be almost any noble hops.

This is a sesson beer and at 4.5% a beer you could drink through out the afternoon.

I need to take a trip to visit the brewery as I hear it is a great place.

Elvis Juice,

Brewdog Brewing

Wincheter, Ohio

An American IPA with a bitter edge that will push your citrus tolerance to the brink and back; Elvis Juice is loaded with tart pithy grapefruit. This IPA has a caramel malt base, supporting a full frontal citrus overload - grapefruit piled on top of intense aroma hops. Waves of crashing pine, orange and grapefruit round out this citrus infused IPA.

In short this is a breakfast beer! You can tast the grapefruit!!

Weed Golden Ale,

Weed Cellars

San Antonio, TX ?

It is 4/20 after all and this beer's name caught my eye in the store. The beer is a middle of the road ale. Good carbonation and ok lace. The mouth feel is alright. Taste is ok. Has a lemon grass flavor.

What has intregeed me is that Brewery web site does not work and I really can't find much info. After a lot of record search it seems to be a company out of California that has their beer contract brewed by other breweries. They opened an "office" April 14, 2020. Their address is 415 Burnet Street, which is the also the address for Alamo Brewing which leads me to believe that Alamo Brewing is doing the contracting.

So bacially they are brewing a beer to be sold by its name more than beer quality. They seem to have two beers Weed Golden Ale and Weed Golden Ale Light.

Contract brewing is done by a lot of breweries and it makes since in some situations especially with the cost of equipment.

But in this day and age I would expect them to at least have a website or social media site about their beers. To this they do have a Facebook page but it is just seems be all fluff and no info on their beers.

I will now step down from my soap box and finish my Weed Golden Ale.

Redacted,

Manhattan Project Brewing

Dallas, TX This is a simple lager made from rice. Good clarity and nice lace. If your looking for a rice lager this could be yours. I presonally prefer a little bit more flavor from a Pislener and I am not a big fan of rice lagers. Japanese Rice Lager 5%     3 3 3 3 3 3 Pic

Crumpet,

Mountain Fork Brewing

Broken Bow, OK

I should prefiss by saying I am not a big English Brown fan and that they are not that common in the United States.

This beer is a true English Brown. Good lace and carbonation. Dark in color you do not taste the hops which is on still for this beer. Strong dark grain taste with a wee bit of carmel.

This would be better on a cold day.
