The making of Brigadoon Brewery & Brew School

In 2005 we began as ALZ Enterprises with a small Pixie Craft booth at the Texas Renaisance Festival. It soon became apparent that we were not going to get rich and that we needed to expand our operation in to an area with greater potential for revenue. So beginning in the spring of 2006 we began to work on a brewery / brew school that would be housed at the festival. After two long years of work behind the scenes the brewery finally became a reality in the fall of 2008. This section of our website is dedicated to our roots less we forget. Please feel free to look around and see how things looked throughout the development of the brewery.
For the first three years of operation we simply performed living history demonstrations and gave 2 oz samples of our ale away. Surprisingly we found that this was not financially sustainable (we could not fund the operation giving away beer) so in the fall of 2011 we became a licensed brewpub allowing us to still give away samples while offering ale for sale (this was much more financially sustainable). To sample or purchase you will have to visit us at our booth located at the Texas Renaissance Festival.
We also added a modern brewing facility behind the original booth so we could continue to brew to period while brewing with more modern equipment.
